I have always wanted to travel to the West Coast of Canada so when the opportunity arose for me to visit beautiful Kelowna I jumped at the chance. My packing ritual started 2 days prior- what clothes should I pack, what shoes J and of course all the skin care products I would need to keep my skin looking and feeling its best.
Dehydration is the biggest battle to fight when traveling; skin becomes dehydrated and dull due to climatic changes, long-haul flights, modifications in diet, additional stresses, etc.
Pressurized airline cabins also contain less oxygen, which inhibits water retention and is damaging to skin. I always tell my guests to stick to a strict skincare routine to combat dehydration while on the road. Always use a moisturizer in-flight—not just a water-based formula, but one that also contains lipids, which provide elasticity and protect against water loss, such as Guinot’s Continuous Nourishing and Protection Cream. I also love to use a sheet mask whilst flying, especially on long-haul flights Guinot’s, pro-collagen firming masks keeps me hydrated for even the longest journeys. Even if you start out moist and hydrated, if you don’t counteract the effects of the dry air, you will arrive at your destination parched and dull. Prep your skin and get a head start prior to your trip – book a facial a few days before jetting off, this is the moment to reduce fine lines, boost hydration, and make skin glow. When you are traveling, your skin will be working hard so make sure you’ve got your essentials: A gentle cleanser -something mild, but very effective is great for extreme traveling – all sports, all weathers. Exfoliate the day you arrive so that it allows all your other products to work much better and effectively put back the vital moisture your skin lost whilst traveling (don’t over exfoliate whilst your away though as you don’t want to increase your skins photosensitivity) . Tone religiously; this soothes, hydrates and balances your pH and is a must have to help your skin adjust to the alteration in climate and water. Most importantly of all use a broad spectrum UVA/UVB sunscreen, apply 30 minutes prior to sun exposure and make sure to reapply throughout the day to keep your skin protected!

Your inability to move much while flying can result in fluid retention in the body.
