What is Microdermabrasion

The process of Microdermabrasion is a deep mechanical exfoliation of the skin to smooth the top surface.

Diamond Microdermabrasion removes the outer layer of aging skin using tips covered with tiny diamonds and a vacuum technique. When the diamond microdermabrasion tip makes contact with the skin it abrades against the top layer pulling it off. The microdermabrasion machine then sucks the loose dead skin cells away from the face.
The tips can be used near the eyes and around the mouth area where the signs of aging are first observed; younger-looking skin can now be easily achieved.

Microdermabrasion removes dead skin cells and aids in the regeneration of epidermal cells, increases collagen formation and increases circulation to the dermis.

The best results are observed over time, after a series of weekly treatments (from 5 to 12). After the series, maintenance treatments once a month will help to keep your skin looking healthy.

After any microdermabrasion treatment, you may experience one or more of the following:

Tingling sensation or tightness of skin (like a wind burn or sun burn)
Redness
Mild swelling

These sensations are normal, and will resolve within hours to a couple of days.

You may experience flaking, peeling and dryness of the skin – usually on the 3rd or 4th days after the treatment. This is normal.

To help get the most out of your treatments, please follow these instructions:

Immediately after the treatment, apply moisturizer with sunscreen (SPF 15-35), and reapply during the day as needed, especially if you are going to be outdoors.
Keep skin well hydrated. Drink plenty of water and apply a good daily and nightly moisturizer.
Avoid sun beds for at least one week
Between treatments, keep skin well protected from UVA/UVB rays with a sunscreen (SPF 15-35).
Avoid facial waxing for at least two weeks
Avoid any chemical peel or AHA (alpha-hydroxy-acid) treatments for three weeks
Avoid swimming in a chlorinated pool the day of the treatment
Avoid saunas and whirlpools

The best results are observed over time, after a series of weekly treatments (from 5 to 12). After the series, maintenance treatments once a month will help to keep your skin looking healthy.
